Wrong-Way GOP

Gee, what a surprise.
As a liberal, I’ve known for decades what is now becoming clearly obvious to my Republican friends: Conservative equals racist, mean, hateful, intolerant, Christian far-right, gun-loving and spiteful.
It’s interesting that moderate Republicans have now seen the light, that Barry Goldwater was the last great Republican leader.
It was Ronald Reagan and his cowboy mentality who turned the GOP the wrong way.
Reagan empowered the current “conservative” thinking with the cowboy image: the National Rifle Assn., the Newts, the Lotts, Ralph Reeds, Pete Wilsons, Rev. Jerry Falwells and David Dukes of the world.
They want control. In the Clinton matter, what they really want to do is undo an election.
They hate that much. These are the politics of the conservative agenda.
