Yahoo Clarifies Content Policy
Responding to a rash of complaints from users, Yahoo Inc. changed a policy that gives the company certain rights to content submitted by its members. The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company clarified that it “does not own” content submitted by members, but does have the right to display such content or use it in advertisements. The change was made largely to mollify members of the newly combined Yahoo-GeoCities service, on which millions of Internet users have personal Web pages.
