A steamroller whose pressing drum was used to smuggle drugs, 12,000 bottles of Armenian brandy and a potentially defective stun gun are just several of the thousands of items that the U.S. Treasury Department will auction off today.

Most of the items, which include a handful of automobiles, electronics, dozens of jewels and hundreds of garments, were seized by U.S. customs officials.

Cash collected at the auction will be directed to federal and local law enforcement and to the handling and disposal of seized property, according to auction spokeswoman Kerry Cooper.
