Khalid Khannouchi of Morocco and Elana Meyer of South Africa won titles in the 10-kilometer Peachtree Road Race at Atlanta as Africans swept the first 10 places in both the men’s and women’s divisions.
Khannouchi covered the 6.2 miles in 27:45 for his second consecutive victory. Meyer won the women’s race in 31:34, beating Catherine Ndereba of Kenya by nine seconds.

Rod Millen of Newport Beach won his fourth consecutive Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Sunday in Manitou Springs, Colo. In slippery conditions, Millen completed the 12.42-mile, dirt-road course in his Toyota truck in 10 minutes 11.15 seconds. Rhys Millen, Rod’s son, won the High Performance Showroom Stock class in a class-record time of 12:13.47.

San Clemente’s Karch Kiraly won a record 140th beach volleyball title Sunday, teaming with Adam Johnson (Laguna Beach High) to win the Assn. of Volleyball Professionals U.S. Open in Chicago.
Each winning team received $18,000.
Robbie Quinn, who will be a senior at Laguna Hills High, won the men’s open division one-meter board event at the Southern California Diving Invitational in Mission Viejo. Other winners included Erin Sones (Stanford Diving) in the women’s open three-meter and Carly Banks (Mission Viejo Nadadores) in the girls’ 14-15 platform.
