The City Council on Tuesday once again...

The City Council on Tuesday once again denied a request for fresh cut flowers to be sold at the Farmers Market. Despite some continued public interest, the council decided that allowing the weekly sale of inexpensive flowers by out-of-town producers would hurt local florists. The council made a similar decision in 1996. However, the council did ask area florists to get together and discuss the possible sale of their flowers at the Saturday open-air market.
