Old playground equipment at Travis Ranch Youth Park is being replaced with shiny new swings and slides, part of the city’s $250,000 in improvements to some of its public parks. The swings, slides and other playground gear at Travis Ranch, in the 20900 block of Yorba Linda Boulevard, may not look old and rundown, but it is a safe move to replace them, Parks and Recreation Director Steve Rudometkin said.
“Because we’ve maintained them well, on the surface some of the equipment doesn’t look old,” he said. “But 15 years is the life expectancy for most of the playground equipment.”
