Homeless Man Dies at Beach Campsite
A homeless man who had been living at Emma Wood Beach in Ventura was found dead at his campsite Sunday, Deputy Coroner Craig Stevens said Monday.
The body of Thomas Dankin, 49, was found by friends around 3:30 p.m., Stevens said.

Wrong name--The name of a homeless man whose body was found at Emma Wood State Beach over the weekend was misspelled in Tuesday’s edition. The correct spelling is Thomas Dakin.
The autopsy did not determine the cause of death, he said. The coroner’s office is awaiting toxicology and laboratory test results.
Dankin, who was divorced, is survived by three sons, who live in Ojai.
