Erik Van Wyck Brauner; Aerospace Executive
Erik Van Wyck Brauner, director of manufacturing at a Burbank aerospace company, died at his home in Moorpark on Sunday. He was 56.
Born on June 30, 1943, in Ithaca, N.Y., he grew up and attended school in Pleasantville, N.Y. In 1965, he moved to Santa Monica.
He owned his own aerospace company, Alonian, in Newbury Park. He was later hired by Hydro Aire, an aerospace company in Burbank.
It was in Newbury Park in 1985 when he met his wife to be, Susan. They were married in 1991.
His wife said that his family will remember him as a good husband and loving father and that he will be missed. He was very devoted to his family and to his job, where he managed more than 500 employees.
In addition to his wife, Brauner is survived by son Tom Hagar of Portland, Ore.; daughters Shannon Brauner and Julia Minton of Moorpark, Lisa Brauner of Lake Chelan, Wash., Jaclyn Culleton of Arcata; brother Olaf Brauner of New York, and one grandchild.
Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Mortuary in Westlake Village, with the Rev. Bruce Kitabjian officiating. Interment will follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Mortuary in Westlake.
