Expo-sure to the Art of Animation

Pokemon came to life over the weekend at the Anime Expo in Anaheim, an exhibition of Japanese animation. David Ramsay (1) and Kimberly Johnson (1)--managers of a Long Beach costume company, Jasper Cosplay Closet--dressed up as Squirtle and Pika Sweet.

Think of it as a virtual Grammy. The Silicon CD award, presented to artists whose music receives a lot of play on the Internet, was presented to Korn singer Jonathan Davis (2) on Monday. His band’s record, “Follow the Leader,” is one of the most popular albums on the Internet worldwide, according to CDDB, the online CD-tracking service that created the award.

Matthew Broderick (3) didn’t have any special tricks up his sleeve to fend off “Inspector Gadget” co-star Joely Fisher (3) at the film’s premiere on the Walt Disney Studios lot. The movie opens Friday.
