SAN CLEMENTE
The City Council recently took two more steps toward annexing the remaining county portion of the Talega Development. The council approved an agreement with the Orange County Fire Authority to provide fire services for the areas annexed to the city. The council also approved an existing master property tax agreement with the county. In 1980, San Clemente and the county agreed to a 51%-49% property tax revenue split for areas annexed by the city. City officials decided not to press the county for a new tax split, because most of the 1,906 acres of property to be annexed is residential. Information: (949) 361-8200.
