2 Teens Shot With Pellets Hospitalized
Two teens were hospitalized after being peppered with pellets from a shotgun during a drive-by shooting in Stanton, police said Tuesday. The two were walking in the 7000 block of Santa Gertrudes Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. when an occupant in a dark-colored sedan opened fire, Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Hector Rivera said.
The pellets struck both males in the back, Rivera said. The shooting victims--identified only as a 19-year-old from Santa Ana and a 16-year-old from Anaheim--were admitted to UCI Medical Center in Orange where they were listed in stable condition, Rivera said.
Police are investigating whether the shooting was gang-related. No arrests have been made, Rivera said.
