The City Council on Tuesday narrowed to two its candidates for city entry monuments. Landscape architects presented the council with three proposals for the monuments, which will be placed in traffic medians at city entry points. Most South County cities have similar monuments defining their borders, architect Jim Collison of Richard Fisher Associates said.

The council voted to consider two of the plans at its next meeting. Both feature a river-stone wall and trees but vary in design. Collison will present detailed drawings of the firm’s final two proposals to the City Council next month, when it is scheduled to make a final decision.
