The City Council voted against revising the city’s campaign finance reform ordinance at its meeting Tuesday. City Atty. Quinn Barrow recommended establishing officeholder accounts, and allowing campaign contributions of up to $250 per year per person. Council member Shawn Boyd argued that the cost of communicating with constituents by printing and distributing newsletters exceeds the current $50 monthly city allowance toward communication.
