City officials recently announced plans for a black-tie New Year’s Eve party called VP2K to help ring in 2000. Festivities, including dancing and a buffet dinner, will run from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. The party will be held in a tented area next to City Hall; tickets will be available for about 400 people at an expected cost of $75 each. “A significant amount of people seem to be interested in attending this community celebration,” said Mayor Pro Tem Robert McGowan.
