SANTA ANA
Fourteen members of Santa Ana College’s occupational therapy assistant program’s first graduating class have passed their national certification test. The median national score is 511; the Class of 1999 surpassed that figure by an average of 11 points. The OTA program, one of three at California community colleges, was established in 1997. One year later, the college obtained its accreditation from the American Occupational Therapy Assn. so that its first graduating class would be fully certified upon entering the work force.
