The Traffic Commission this week voted to recommend that the City Council install a signal at Melody Lane and Chapman Avenue; three pedestrians have been struck and killed at the intersection in the last five years, officials said. The City Council will vote on the commission’s recommendation at either the July 6 or 20 meeting. If approved, the traffic signal would be installed by the end of the year, said public works director Chris Becker. The signal would cost $50,000 to $70,000.
