Re “Keep School Reform Ball Rolling,” editorial, Feb. 25:

Every principal in every school statewide already knows the very few mediocre or burned-out teachers. Teacher peer review (AB 1X) would be a waste of time.

Summer training programs (AB 2X) will be no more productive than teaching swimming without water. The best place to learn teaching is in front of students.

Ranking of schools (SB 1X) is already found on the Internet.

Requiring an exit exam (SB 2X) is also redundant. Every week for four years high school students are required to pass exams for normal progress to a high school diploma.

Gov. Gray Davis’ education package won’t improve education one iota.
