Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on California 126
A motorcyclist died Sunday after a crash on California 126 between Santa Paula and Fillmore, the California Highway Patrol reported.
A 32-year-old Ojai man, who authorities would not identify, died at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital shortly after the 5 p.m. crash, said Claude Bell, a CHP dispatcher.
The incident occurred several miles east of Santa Paula near Boosey Road, officers said.
A truck parked on the shoulder of the westbound lanes reentered the highway in the path of the motorcyclist, officers said. The truck driver, Alfonso Ibarra, 40, of Pacoima, and two children riding with him were not injured. Ibarra was not cited.
After the crash, east- and westbound lanes were closed for about 30 minutes. The closure caused backups of about a mile in each direction, witnesses said.
