In Garden Grove League baseball:

Santiago 2, Rancho Alamitos 0--Brian Pilkington (2-2) pitched a one-hitter, striking out nine and walking two, for visiting Santiago (3-5, 1-2).

At the Long Beach Classic golf tournament:

Rhee medals, El Toro wins--Donald Rhee shot par 72 to earn medalist honors and lead El Toro to the team title at Victoria Club in Riverside.

In nonleague golf:

Orange Lutheran 181, Calvary Chapel 207--John Evans shot a one-under 34 for Calvary Chapel but Orange Lutheran won at Willowick. Matt Amen shot a 35 and Dave Riddle shot 36. On the 463-yard par-five sixth hole, Orange Lutheran had two eagles and four birdies.

In Garden Grove League softball:

Garden Grove 1, Rancho Alamitos 0 (11)--Anna Prince’s RBIs single off the wall with two out in the bottom of the 11th inning won it for Garden Grove (3-5-1, 1-1).

In Sunset League boys’ track and field:

Fountain Valley 79, Huntington Beach 53--Sam Lightbody threw a county-best 186 feet 6 1/2 inches in the discus for Huntington Beach.
