Toastmasters Elect District Governor

* Mary Jones of Camarillo was elected governor of Toastmasters International, District 33. Jones was elected by representatives of the district at its meeting this month in Cambria. She is a member of the Conejo Valley and Top of the Towers Toastmaster clubs.

Leadership Academy Announces Graduates

* The Ventura County Leadership Academy has announced the graduates of its fourth Leadership Program. The class participated in a nine-month program of focus sessions, site visits, seminars and independent research on issues affecting quality of life in Ventura County. Class participants also developed and conducted a daylong youth leadership conference for county high school students.

The graduates are Raymond Abbott, Hydee Dullam, Deborah Sutherland and Phillip Thackoorie of Camarillo; Eva Conrad of Westlake Village; Karen Gorback, Carrie Kim and Beverly Viola of Thousand Oaks; Robert Cabral, Donna Helms, William Johnson, Dina Ontiveras and Kathy Raffaelli of Oxnard; Constance Baker, Helen Galindo, Virginia Lawson, Pattie Ridenour, Fred Robinson and Peggy Jo Walls of Ventura; Stan Hibdon of Simi Valley; Kenneth Kosoff of Oak Park; Michael Carney of Stevenson Ranch and Lisa Miranda of Agoura.
