Ice Dogs Defeated by Utah, 7-5
Richard Park scored two second-period goals and assisted on a third Friday night as the Utah Grizzlies defeated the Long Beach Ice Dogs, 7-5, before a crowd of 9,112 in an International Hockey League game at the Long Beach Arena.
The Ice Dogs (1-1) opened a 4-2 lead in the game’s first 11:46 before giving up five consecutive goals to the Grizzlies, who were playing their season opener.
Park broke a 4-4 tie when he scored 22 seconds into the second period. He scored again at 6:39, then assisted on John Purves’ power-play goal at 15:20, giving the Grizzlies a 7-4 lead.
