*** Bryan Ferry, “As Time Goes By,” Virgin. Indulging his longtime fascination with classic songs, the former Roxy Music frontman performs 15 romantic standards in authentic ‘30s jazz-pop style. Ferry’s clear, slightly husky voice perfectly molds the material in nuanced treatments that alternately play it straight (“Where or When”) and warp the urbane veneer to reveal underlying turmoil (“Falling in Love Again”). These songs could be musty museum pieces, but he brings them to life. Ferry appears Nov. 17 at the Sun Theatre and Nov. 18 at the Wiltern Theatre.
