Cisco Systems Inc. said that 10 companies, including Motorola Inc., Texas Instruments Inc. and Irvine-based Broadcom Corp., will develop products using its proposed standard for broadband wireless Internet services, a new technology aimed at making cordless connections to the Internet cheaper and more reliable. Cisco aims to roll out products using the new technology, called Vector Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, by the end of the year. Broadcom will work with Cisco to develop a wireless modem that allows data transmission speeds of 40 million bits per second while sending or receiving data.
