Adelynn O. Lundgren; Former Miss Alabama
Adelynn Owens Lundgren, who won the Miss Alabama pageant in 1935, died Sunday after complications following a stroke. She was 87.
Lundgren was born Jan. 9, 1912, in Bamberg, S. C. She was raised in Birmingham, Ala., and at age 23 was crowned Miss Alabama.
She moved to New York, where she worked as a model and acted on Broadway.
Lundgren lived in Coronado for many years and moved to Ventura County in 1994 to be closer to her daughter. She was an active member of the Red Cross for more than 35 years.
Lundgren is survived by her children: Laura Seelos of Ventura, Douglas Lundgren of Verdi, Nev., and John Lundgren of Los Angeles, and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar L. Lundgren.
No services are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
