The United Nations flag flew high at Leisure World on Sunday as more than 50 residents of the gated community celebrated United Nations and United Nations Children’s Fund Day with students from UC Irvine.
Nisha Singh, 18, president of UCI’s Model United Nations, highlighted the fund’s attempt to eradicate polio and provide nutrition to children in impoverished countries. She also presented ways Leisure World residents could get involved with the program, from grass-roots fund-raising to larger corporate donations.
