VILLA PARK
The City Council voted Tuesday night in favor of conducting a public hearing to determine whether a Beardsley Circle homeowner is creating a public nuisance by attracting flocks of wild ducks to her backyard by feeding them.
The homeowner, Judy Simons, said she is no longer feeding the ducks, but does feed several other birds in her backyard, including sparrows and doves.
Rhonda Hughes, who lives behind Simons, said the ducks are still flocking to Simons’ backyard and showed recent photographs to the board.
The public hearing will take place at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at Villa Park City Hall, 17855 Santiago Blvd.
