Harvard-Westlake 35, Bishop Montgomery 7--Lerato Simelane rushed for 133 yards in 20 carries, including touchdowns of two and four yards, for the Wolverines (4-4, 1-0) at Bishop Montgomery.
Harvard-Westlake scored on its first play from scrimmage when freshman quarterback Richard Irvin lateraled to flanker Brian Stanley, who threw 52 yards to Richard Nicholson. Irvin completed six of nine passes for 75 yards in his varsity debut, including a seven-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Alexander-Bloch that extended Harvard-Westlake’s lead to 28-7 late in the third quarter.
Alexander-Bloch had already scored on a 44-yard fumble recovery midway through the second quarter, giving the Wolverines a 14-0 lead.
Harvard-Westlake forced four fumbles and held Bishop Montogomery (2-6, 0-1) to one-of-five passing for three yards.
