Adventure Pass Opposition
Re “Supervisors Back Forest Fee Protest,” Oct. 13.
I would like to thank, wholeheartedly, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors for adding its voice to the voices of people and communities everywhere in public condemnation of a corrupt, invasive and increasingly pervasive Recreation Fee Demonstration Program (the Adventure Pass).
I would also like to thank those who addressed the board and spoke against this program for those unable or unaware. I should like to thank Rich Tobin (the only representative of the U.S. Forest Service to attend) as well. His tear-jerking rendition of the “Forest Circus Shuffle” was second to none. I’ll give it a 1, ‘cause I can’t dance to it.
Seriously, I know that any action taken by the Board of Supervisors cannot stop the fee demo program, only an act of Congress can do that. But the importance of this action is not lost.
Thank you again to the supervisors for their foresight and humanity.
“Forest Free as It Should Be.”
