Steve Forbes is ready for Gov. Bush to join his White House bid--Jeb Bush, that is.

The millionaire publisher has bought 19 Internet addresses on the longshot chance that Florida Gov. Jeb Bush might consent to run as his vice president.

“Give Forbes points for cleverness,” Jeb Bush spokesman Corey Tilley said. “The governor laughed about it and shook his head when he heard about it.”

Among the Internet sites the Forbes campaign has registered are www.steveandjeb.net, www.steveforbes-jebbush.com and www.forbesandgovernorjeb.com. None of the 19 domain names is active.

“There will always be room for a Bush on the Forbes ticket,” Forbes spokesman Kendrick Ashton said. “It just happens to be Jeb Bush.”

In May, the presidential campaign of Jeb’s brother, George W. Bush, governor of Texas, bought rights to Internet addresses teaming him with a host of potential vice presidential candidates.

The Politics1 Report, an online political newsletter, discovered Wednesday that Forbes had fought back by securing the rights to the address variations to a Forbes-Bush ticket.
