The Cypress Pops Orchestra did not receive the $1,000 in additional funds it was hoping to get from the city. Instead, the orchestra received $1,000 in donations from the council, at no cost to the city.

City Atty. William Wynder will donate $500, and the rest will be donated by the four City Council members and Mayor Tim Keenan, at $100 each.

The funds will support the local youth musicians for a Nov. 14 concert performance. City funds would not have been available for this event since the Pops Orchestra had already received an allotted amount from the city for four summer concerts.
