A kickoff signing and recipe-sampling party for its new horror writers’ cookbook, “Conjuring Dark Delicacies,” will be held Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Dark Delicacies, 3725 W. Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood.

Those who have contributed recipes or artwork include Stephen King, Clive Barker, Pamela Franklin, Tim Curry and Nancy Holder. Some contributors will attend. Of the cookbook’s $19.95 sales price, $10 will go to the NEVA Foundation, which helps abused and abandoned dogs. Also, Joe R. Singer-songwriters Severin Browne and David Piper perform tonight at Exile Books and Music, 14925 Magnolia Blvd., Sherman Oaks. An evening of spoken word and music featuring Christian Elder, Phil Ward, John Gardiner, E.C. Archibeque and the Anagrams will be held Saturday. There’s a $5 cover charge. Showtime is 8 p.m. both nights.

Earlier Saturday, Blue Satellite Publications will present a reading at 3 p.m., no cover. Jeanette Marie Clough, author of “Celestial Burn,” will read Sunday at 3 p.m. No cover.
