Last Saturday’s 1-0 loss at Colorado sliced the Galaxy’s first-place lead to two points over the Rapids, with third-place Chicago four points back. United leads the series with the Galaxy, 6-4, but the Galaxy won the most recent meeting--a 2-1 victory at RFK Stadium in Washington on June 19 on a last-second goal by midfielder Mauricio Cienfuegos. The Galaxy has won nine of 12 games.
