Norwalk Glenn 33, La Quinta 0--Glenn running back Sal Poti rushed for 124 yards and Mike So rushed for 108 at Excelsior Field in Norwalk.
Glenn’s defense held La Quinta to 10 yards rushing, and limited Aztec quarterback Renee Sanchez to two completions in nine attempts, with one interception.
“Nothing went right for us,” Sanchez said. “Too many missed tackles, plus we turned the ball over too much.”
La Quinta fumbled on the first play of the game and lost two more fumbles. All three led to Glenn touchdowns.
La Quinta managed to recover one Glenn fumble at the Aztec one-yard line, but Glenn got a sack and a safety on the next play.
