Third Party Views
I noted with interest the Aug. 21 graphic box outlining the positions of the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, Dianne Feinstein, and the Republican candidate, Tom Campbell, on education. I couldn’t help but wonder, however, where were the views of my party’s senatorial candidate, Medea Benjamin [Green Party]?
Where, in fact, were the views of any of the other party’s candidates? The exclusion of the so-called third parties from stories such as this in major media like The Times ensures their continued marginalization. Who knows, with more exposure perhaps one of these parties could move beyond the fringe to which they have been exiled.
