College District Panel Has Vacancy
The county community college district is accepting applications for a position on its personnel commission, whose members administer the civil service merit system for the district’s nonacademic classified employees.
Commission members are nominated by the Ventura County Community College District trustees and appointed by the chancellor of California Community Colleges.
The open seat is for a three-year term starting in December.
Applicants must demonstrate support for the employment merit system and be registered voters residing in the county’s college district.
Women, minorities, students and the disabled, as well as those with business, labor and education backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Commission members are required to attend regular monthly meetings. Members are paid a stipend of $50 per meeting, up to a maximum of $250 each month.
Applications are due by Sept. 5. Call 384-8305 for information and application materials.
