Pearson’s 33 Points Carry Notre Dame to Tournament Title
Cody Pearson had 33 points and 14 rebounds to lead Notre Dame High to a 78-60 victory over Canyon in the championship game of the Canyon boys’ basketball tournament Saturday night.
Pearson, the tournament’s most valuable player, scored 13 points in the third quarter, including a layup that put Notre Dame (4-0) ahead, 52-38. He made 13 of 15 free throws.
Matt Nelsen scored 23 points for the Cowboys (5-3) and Jeremy Haggerty had 16 points and seven rebounds.
