Pomona Girl Hit by Car; Driver Arrested
A 6-year-old Pomona girl was struck by a pickup truck and critically injured Monday when she ran onto South Park Avenue while playing. Police arrested the driver on suspicion of felony drunk driving.
The child, who was not identified, was in critical condition late Monday at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles with multiple fractures, a hospital spokesman said. She was undergoing surgery to repair a thigh fracture.
The driver, identified as Melquisedec Guzman, 34, of Chino Hills, was booked on $50,000 bail.
