Forum Planned for Assembly Candidates
Voters will have a chance to quiz local legislative candidates at a luncheon forum Friday.
The event, co-sponsored by the State Issues Committee of the Valley Industry and Commerce Assn. and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, will feature only candidates who are in contested races in the March primary.
Candidates expected to attend are 42nd Assembly District Democrats Paul Koretz, Dan Stone and Amanda Susskind; 41st Assembly District Republican Jayne Murphy Shapiro; and 41st Assembly District Democrats David Freeman, Brenda Gottfried, Fran Pavley and Tony Vazquez.
Each candidate will be asked a question from a VICA representative as well as written questions from the audience.
Friday’s event is planned from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Beverly Garland’s Holiday Inn, 4222 Vineland Ave. Admission is $30, which includes lunch and parking.
VICA is planning a forum Feb. 14 for state Senate candidates from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Radisson Valley Center Hotel, 15433 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks. Cost is also $30 per person.
