* LOYOLA MARYMOUNT (2-21, 0-10) at PEPPERDINE (19-6, 9-1), 7:30, KLXU (88.9 FM)--Pepperdine’s 80-69 victory over Gonzaga pulled the Waves into a tie with the Bulldogs for first place in the West Coast Conference. The Waves play their home finale against the last-place Lions, who are coming off a 56-55 loss to Portland, their 10th defeat in a row. Loyola Marymount lost 11 in a row earlier this season. Stanley Thorne has scored 20 or more points in four of the Lions’ last eight games and Pablo Machado recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 15 points and 14 rebounds against Portland. Sophomore guards Craig Lewis and Brandon Armstrong of Pepperdine combined for 39 points against Gonzaga. The Waves have won 11 of 12 and three in a row. They are 10-1 at home and are seeking their first 20-win season since 1992-93.
