Brea Olinda 95, South Torrance 35--Visiting South Torrance put double and triple coverage on post player Chelsea Trotter, who was held to 12 points and 10 rebounds. But she had seven assists, dishing the ball to guards Tara Hefferly and Jackie Lord, who shot the lights out, helping Brea (22-5) build a 24-9 first-quarter lead. Hefferly finished with 25 points, including seven three-pointers, and had seven steals and three assists. Lord scored 22 points.
Foothill 71, Hemet West Valley 39--Chavaughn Brown made 10 of 10 shots and scored 24 points for host Foothill, which plays at Torrance. The second-seeded Knights (20-7) made 33 of 55 field goals.
Redondo Beach Redondo Union 79, El Modena 28--Lindsey Galasso and Norrelle Dickson each scored 13 for El Modena (12-13) against the third-seeded Seahawks (23-5).
Sonora 61, Riverside Norte Vista 34--Brandi Davis had 22 points, Mindy Clark had 16 points and Raena Neabors had 13 points and nine rebounds for host Sonora (19-8), which plays Valencia on Wednesday.
Torrance 56, Santiago 43--Tied after one quarter, 11-11, turnovers plagued Santiago (17-10), which fell under the barrage of Torrance’s 10 three-point baskets.
Valencia 69, Garden Grove 53--Goldie Fadakar scored a season-high 24 points for Valencia (23-3). Garden Grove’s Gloria Rojas led all scorers with 27 points.
