‘Puffy’ Combs Is Indicted on Bribery Charge
NEW YORK — Hours before Wednesday’s Grammy Awards, the music industry’s highest honors, past winner and current nominee Sean “Puffy” Combs was indicted on suspicion of trying to bribe his driver over an alleged gun possession incident.
The rap star and his driver were previously indicted on a charge of criminal possession of a weapon stemming from a shooting at a Manhattan nightclub.
Prosecutors allege that Combs offered his driver $50,000 if he would claim ownership of the gun police said they found in the car in which the defendants were riding after the Dec. 27 shooting.
