In other quarterfinals:
Fairfax 88, Carson 61--Evan Burns scored 18 points, Ishmael Torres scored 14 and Craig Smith had 13 for the third-seeded Lions (21-6) in the Championship Division quarterfinal victory at Fairfax.
Scottie Stern added 12 points for Fairfax, which is bidding to make a return to the City Championship game for the second consecutive year. The Lions lost to Manual Arts in last year’s final at Pauley Pavilion.
Fairfax led Carson, 41-38, at halftime then outscored the Colts, 21-6, in the third quarter.
North Hollywood 71, Hamilton 65--The Huskies made 26 of 47 shots in an Invitational Division quarterfinal victory at home.
Ken Hauser scored 22 points for North Hollywood (20-7) and Gus Ruiz had 19 while making eight of 12 shots.
Dominic Johnson had 16 points for the Huskies, who saw a 38-25 halftime lead reduced to 57-56 with 4 1/2 minutes left in the game.
Granada Hills 83, Wilmington Banning 70--Midwin Francis scored 23 points and had 20 rebounds for the Highlanders (16-11) in the Invitational Division quarterfinal victory at Granada Hills.
Gene Nubla scored 16 points and had six assists for Granada Hills.
