Crews Still Fixing Storm-Damaged Phone Lines
The storms that swept across Southern California this week caused the loss of telephone service that plagued parts of Garden Grove, officials said Friday.
More than 1,500 homes and businesses have been without service since Monday, and Pacific Bell does not expect to have full service restored until Monday, a spokesperson said Friday.
The widespread failure that affected 1,800 service lines was caused by water damage to cables, and crews have been working all week to restore the service, said Pacific Bell spokesman Mark Barnhill. Badly damaged wires will have to be replaced, he said.
“The weather is always a problem,” Barnhill said.
