BASEBALL

Pepperdine 17, UC Santa Barbara 9--Danny Garcia had a home run and three doubles for the Waves (6-7) in a nonconference game at Santa Barbara. Pepperdine, which trailed, 5-0, after one inning, hit five home runs.

CS Northridge 6, West Virginia 4--Eric Horvat and Tim Arroyo each had two hits for the Matadors (6-6) in the Las Vegas tournament.

The Master’s 7, Northwest Nazarene 1--Kurt Fillmore homered and finished with five hits and three RBIs in a nonconference game at The Master’s (10-3).

Glendale 11-13, Compton 3-6--Jason Botts hit a home run and the Vaqueros (5-5-1) scored seven runs in the second inning during the second game in a Pasadena-Citrus tournament sweep at Glendale.

Cal Lutheran 5, Pomona-Pitzer 3--Tom Canale (3-0) struck out eight in seven innings for visiting Cal Lutheran in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game.

Dan Loyd hit a solo home run in the fifth inning, his third of the year for Cal Lutheran (7-2, 5-0).
