Anaheim Children With Matches Set Trailer Park Fire
Children playing with matches sparked an afternoon blaze at an Anaheim mobile home park Saturday that destroyed two coaches and sent a firefighter to a hospital with minor burns, authorities said.
The fire left at least two adults and one child homeless, and the blaze caused about $175,000 in damage to the Golden Sky Mobile Home Park on Midway Drive, according to an Anaheim fire dispatcher.
A third mobile home also was damaged.
Two dozen firefighters responded to the blaze shortly after 3 p.m. and took a half-hour to bring the fire under control.
One firefighter suffered minor burns to both hands.
He required brief hospital treatment, said the dispatcher, who declined to give her name.
A fire at the same trailer park five months ago killed seven cats and slightly injured one woman.
