Lights: Just Part of the Electric Bill
Your article on the Department of Water and Power’s headquarters (“Bright Lights, Big City,” by Leslee Komaiko, So SoCal, Jan. 30) was entertaining but didn’t shine much light on the truth.
The electric bill you included was the total for the building, which is comparable for buildings this size. Lighting is only a portion of the bill, which also includes pumps, fans, air-handling equipment, elevator loads and office computers.
