LAGUNA WOODS

The 30-foot-high Leisure World globe will remain an Interstate 5 landmark in Laguna Hills for now, after Golden Rain Foundation board members Tuesday postponed a decision on the issue.

Board members want to move the globe but have not determined the precise spot to put it in Leisure World, said Cynthia Chyba, first vice president of the Golden Rain Foundation and chairwoman of the government and public relations committee.

The Leisure World Historical Society offered to move the globe to sit outside its center on Calle Aragon, within the boundaries of Laguna Woods. The borders of the city, formed in March, include Leisure World.

However, board members may eventually want to use that open space on Calle Aragon for parking, Chyba said.
