Sixth-graders will release balloons welcoming the new year at Los Coyotes Elementary School, 8122 Moody St., at 10 a.m. Friday.
Stamped postcards will be attached to the balloons, and awards will be given to those classes with the most returned cards. Children whose cards are returned from the most distant post office will also receive awards.
A 2,000-link paper chain will be built by students with their New Year’s resolutions on each link. The chain will be used to decorate the campus. Information: Debbie Judge at (714) 220-1914.
