Buddy, Can You Spare a Few Wins?

I read Lonnie White’s article on the Clipper “Buddy” system [June 30] and had to respond:

How long before the “Buddy” system turns into “family feud?” What a preposterous thought--that 18- and 19-year-old kids will simply win games because they are friends!

Wouldn’t it have been better to add mature NBA players, who can show Odom and Olowokandi how to win games? Even [Marcus] Fizer would have been a better choice . . . at least he can replace [Mo] Taylor at power forward.

Charles Barkley was right Wednesday on TNT--the Clippers don’t need a coach, they need a baby-sitter!

On draft day, the Clippers acquired a player who would have been a college freshman next season and three players who would have been college juniors, to play with Lamar Odom, who would have been a college senior.

Are they trying to win the Pacific Division or the Pacific 10 Conference?

If Donald Sterling is smart (did I say that?), he’ll hire Pat Summitt as coach.

Darius Miles has mastered the game of basketball at the high school level. He should fit right in with the Clippers.
