Lodging Chain Installs Room Air, Water Filters
In a nod to health-conscious and allergy-sensitive travelers, the Best Inns & Suites chain is putting air and water filters in 10% of its rooms--or up to 10 per hotel--in its 133 hotels nationwide. Installation of the EverGreen rooms, named for the Wilmington, N.C., company that makes the filters, is to be completed by the end of summer, a spokeswoman said. Twenty of the hotels are in California. The air filters remove odors, dust, allergens and other irritants; the water filters eliminate chlorine, sulfur, iron and other substances. Reservations: telephone (800) 237-8466.
